Good: Anthony Davis Trademarks his Brow

Anthony Davis, went No.1 to the New Orleans Hornets in the NBA draft this past Thursday.  But before he went off to the NBA Davis had to take care of his brows! Davis knows for his connected eyebrows trademarked the phrases “Fear The Brow” and “Raise The Brow” earlier this month.

“I don’t want anyone to try to grow a unibrow because of me and then try to make money off of it,” Davis told CNBC. “Me and my family decided to trademark it because it’s very unique.”

It seems last year as a freshman at Kentucky Davis missed out on a lot of “Brow” merchandise.  Davis was a star at Kentucky and helped lead the Wildcats to a National Championship.  Local Kentucky merchants decided they would capitalize on the basketball stars unique feature.  However, as a college athlete it is prohibited by NCAA rules for Davis to capitalize on it.

Davis said he is frequently told to shave the brow but he says he would never because “everyone’s talking about it.”

 Better: Papa Smurf Gets Arrested

On June 14 in Destin Florida a sheriff recognized a man he had previous dealings with.  Because the man was in a complex the officer knew he had been kicked out of before he approached the suspect.  The man goes by the name Papa Smurf! The officer explained to Papa Smurf that he was issued a trespass warning last time he was in that complex and was supposed to stay out of there.  Papa Smurf then told the officer he was too drunk and didn’t remember that incident.  Papa Smurf was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespassing.

Best: Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes are Splitting!

Now this isn’t wacky or even funny but it is definitely headline celebrity news! Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are calling it quits after five years of marriage.  Cruise, 49, and Holmes, 33, have a six-year-old daughter Suri.  This is Cruise’s third marriage.  His first wife was Mimi Rogers, his second was Nicole Kidman.

Who could forget Tom jumping on Oprah’s couch professing his love for Katie…my my how fast things change.

Rajan Rondo “Bumps” his way out of Game 2

Rondo

By Stephanie Burke

Last night the Celtics played Game 1 vs the Atlanta Hawks.  Throughout the game they trailed Atlanta and found themselves trying to pull out of a 17 point deficient. It looked as though they might achieve this comeback and then Rondo lost his mind with 40 seconds left in the fourth. Obviously not literally but one would have to question Rondo’s state of sanity to not only yell at a ref but physically touch the ref by chest bumping him in a playoff game! As you can imagine this caused Rondo to be ejected from the game and probably suspended from Game 2!

The incident played out like this: Kevin Garnett knocked the ball away from Joe Johnson.  This caused a skirmish on the floor and a foul was called on Brandon Bass for fouling Josh Smith.  This bad call by the ref caused Rondo to flip out and yell in the face of official Marc Davis, who gave him technical foul.  Rondo kept walking towards Davis yelling about the call and “bumped him in the back with his chest.  That action got Rondo a second technical foul and automatic ejection from the game. This also opens up the possibility for a suspension from game 2 for physical contact with an official.

The Celtics are already down one of their stars with Ray Allen’s bone spurs leaving his status up in the air. Now with Rondo possibly missing Game 2 as well; it is definitely not a good way to start a 7 game series.  Celtics coach Doc Rivers is of course trying to save Rondo from suspension by saying Rondo tripped and accidentally bumped the official.  Now I have always been a fan of Rondo but pissed or not he had to know his little fit would cause repercussions.  Especially when he took it one step to far and physically touched the referee.  By now saying “oh he tripped” I almost feel like they are insulting our intelligence.  I mean come on Doc, look at the tape and then try to say that with a straight face.

Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think…accidental bump or temper fit?

By the way the Celtics lost last night 83-74.  Game 2 is tomorrow night in Atlanta.
